How do I unclog a bathroom sink drain?

If you've got a popup drain plug that's the first thing to try. Unscrew the connection where the handle mechanism meets the drain pipe. Pull the actuator out then you can pull the popup out from the top. Those tend to collect hair. Next thing if that wasn't the problem is to screw the actuator back in and try a plunger. Failing there it's snake time. Your local hardware store will have an assortment to choose from.

Draino or Liquid Plumber

It probably has a lot of hair and soap scum in it. First things first, you need to get rid of the hair. There is a plastic strip you can get that has barbs on it that you put down the drain and it pulls hair back up with the barbs. You can find them at almost any store. Once you think you have all or the majority of the hair you can deal with the scum that probably collected on the hair, but was left in the drain. Put down the drain about a quarter cup of baking soda followed by around a cup of vinegar. It will fizz up, that is natural, what fizz comes up will make that area around the drain spotless. Leave it alone to work for ten or fifteen minutes, then follow that with about a gallon of boiling water. This should clear up your sink. If it doesn't the clog may be down a lot further and need to be snaked. This is really easy to do for your you, and cheaply too, as you probably already have the baking soda and vinegar in your house. The hair remover stick is really cheap, only a couple of dollars, and is reusable for years.
