Is there any way to easily remove cigarette burns from a wooden floor?

Hello Valorie, Just about the only way I know of is to gently sand them out and then match the stain as best you can, and stain and reseal it. Begin with a rougher textured sandpaper to begin to rough it up a bit, then change over to a 200 grit to get a smooth finish (the higher the number "grit" the finerthe finish will be). The Big Box stores like Lowe's, Home Depot, Menard's, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, will all carry things you need to do the job, but to make things easier ask a sales person to help you out ;) They cn take you right to where you need to go to get the supplies and at the first 3 I mentioned, they can even instruct you a bit on how to "get'er done" ;) Good Luck Valorie, and thank you for asking HOMETALK how to easily remove cigarette burns from a wooden floor.

Sand the spot to remove all evidence of the burn, and stain it with the matching stain of the floor. Take a good picture of the area to a paint store and they will help you select the proper stain. Then you will need to apply a coat of Varnish to seal it and give it a appearance like the remaining area.

Sand off the spot, then get SoftWax Wood filler from www.fastcap.com. It will have a match for the wood. The process is to color the spot like a crayon (filling the hole), scrape off the excess and buff out.

I would also start by sanding it off.
