How often did you water,were they in the ground or in pots? Were they perennial or annual mums
Most of the time it due to lack of water... Mums need a LOT of water when they are blooming... but they don't like sitting in water. The First thing you need to do is take off the fancy plastic wrap thing covering the pot (you cannot see thru it to see if it is holding water or is dry. I put mine in a clear punch bowl from the dollar store. water just enough that the plant takes up ALL the water in about 1 hour... then before you water again stick your finger into the soil to the first joint... if you feel dampness, wait to water til the next day....good luck
My experience with store-bought plants is usually a disappointment, due to the potting soil that dries out , even after planted. Two things are helpful: either push the pot down into a bucket of water until bubble stop, then drain, cut roots at bottom in an X and plant with alfalfa pellets. Or, swish the unspotted soil/plant in a bucket of water with transplant liquid and rid it of most of the nursery soil, then plant. I drowned my mums in pots; they really don't require lots of water. I have one pot that is dry every time I check it.
