Also you could look at using a car wax to bring back the shine, just be careful not to work too much in the one spot and overheat the surface otherwise you will scratch it or burn through the clear gel coat.
Marine fiberglass refinishing products and a product called "Gloss" sold at box stores will keep hardwater stain-Free.
