Use treated wood, or finish your wood if it is to be outside. I would use 2x2 lumber for the legs so that it is sturdy. You will want to use perhaps as thick as one inch for the main work area but should be sturdy for the work that you plan to do, so if it is light work, it is ok to use thinner, but not too thin. You can build a hutch using plywood to hold all the things you want to use on the station. You can also put a lower shelf for extra pots and soil, the larger stuff that you wouldn't keep on the top. I hope this helps! If you use good casters on each leg you could make it moveable.

You could build one out of pallets... they are really cheap (or free) I would look on Pinterest for some ideas
