I'm assuming you meant to ask if they could be planted in the ground. If so, the place to start is with a soil test to determine if you have sufficient acid in your soil to make the blueberries happy. They like acid soil with a pH of 5-5.5, so if you don't have that and they're happy in the pots, I would leave them. If you do have acid soil, you can plant them into the ground in your zone now -- based on a Master Gardener friend of mine who lives in WA and is getting ready to plant her blueberries into the ground from their pots.
Here's an article about transplanting blueberries, scroll down to find the section about transplanting from containers. Good luck!

Yes. Fall is the best time to plant blueberries. Have your soil tested for PH, as blue berries are very sensitive to high PH and will die if it is too high. You can amend the soil to adjust the PH .
Blueberries thrive outdoors if they are planted in the right zones. Google your state dept of agriculture for a list of blueberries suited for your area.
You should still be able to plant them,as long as the ground is not frozen.Dig the holes twice the size of the root ball width and depth.
I forgot to mention that blueberries planted outside will lose their leaves in the winter. T.hat is normal. We live in Sout Georgia and have grown several acres of both highbush and summer blooming berries for 25+ years.
