What is the best method for cleaning the fabric border of a sisal rug?

    Is it outdoor? Could use power washer and hang to dry. Stiff brush with DAWN scrubbing.

    People often dye or paint the borders of these rugs when they become discolored.

    If the boarder is nylon or wool, apply cornstarch to the soiled areas and rub with a nylon vegetable brush. Then vacuum.

    I got a bissell spot and stain remover and it works great on narrow areas like that. Before I got that I would use oxyclean dissolved in warm water and a scrub brush. Then I would scrub the heck out of it and use a towel to blot any excess water
