Unfortunately, you need to sand through the poly coats to remove it OR use stripper which removes a lot of the paint also.
Rub it down or sand it off. then use Polyurethane varnish - although I am not sure it will stand up to hard wear.........
How did you apply it? I use that stuff with great results all the time. You may try lightly sanding a test area and applying another coat.

I'm not sure why yours came out terrible.
Is the minwax you used a version of a wax?
If so, you may be able to remove it via heat. As you're not happy anyway, seems there's nothing to lose by trying!
Remember, these are just my personal thoughts, not anything I've done.
I would use my iron to try this out. Start with as low a heat as possible (not steam & no water in the iron). Place paper towels between your iron and the surface to soak up the melted (hopefully!!) wax.
Before this, I suggest you email minwax to tell them what happened and ask their advice. Good luck!
btw..."they" state: "At least 3 coats are recommended. If unable to recoat within 1½ hours, wait at least 72 hours then lightly sand and recoat. Polycrylic™ dries to the touch in 30 minutes and can be handled after 1 hour. After final coat, allow 24 hours before normal use."
I suspect you put on additional coats too soon. If this was the case, sanding may fix it.
My Pleasure............
