The Best Way to Remove Wax From Glass Jar Candles
Chill the jars in the freezer, the wax should freeze and then remove
Put the glass jar or container in the freezer overnight and the wax will pop right out. Sometimes you may have to break it up with a screwdriver. Very easy. Of course, let the jar come to room temps before cleaning with hot water.
Microwave or a hot water bath and pour it out while warm be careful it’s not too hot and wipe quickly with paper towels
I had about given up on getting the wax out of a glass pitcher I used to pour the wax when making candles! I tried freezing it, scraping it, etc. Eventually I boiled water in a teapot, poured the boiling water into the pitcher to melt the wax, then dumped it outside. I had a handle to keep me safe. If you try this, make sure to keep your arms and hands safe!
really hot water generally does the trick
invert them onto cookie tray in warm oven and the wax will melt and run out
I did that just yesterday! poured boiling water into the jar and then thru it out. finished off with a scrub with a plastic scrubbing pad.
leave the article in the freezer for a few hours or overnight,,easy easy ,Anne Webb
microwave, pour out.
I find that placing them in the freezer at least for overnight will loosen the grip of old wax and it will pop right out; you may need to nudge it a bit with a butter knife first.
Put the jars into the freezer overnight. Then remove one jar at a time and use a knife to break up the wax. It requires some elbow grease, but the wax will come out when broken into pieces smaller than jar opening. If there are small bits remaining it can be cleaned with Goof Off on a paper towel then wash with hot soapy water.
Try removing as much wax as possible. Place jar in a hot water bath and wait until it liquefies and then wipe out. If there is residue, then try washing in hot soapy water.
