How do I clean algae from plastic aquarium plants without using bleach
My aquarium is near a window and cannot be moved due to its size . The plants which are made of plastic get a lot of algae on them. Bleach is out of the question because it fades the plants and is not good for the fish! Help me figure out how to clean my fish tank!

Soak in hot water for awhile, then scrub with a tooth brush. No soap or bleach needed.
We use vinegar! Bleach can be used if done properly. Here is a link.

There are algaecides that are made for fish tanks and ponds... remove the plants from the aquarium... soak them in the algaecide and water in a bucket, rinse very well and put back in the tank.... the Algae will come back, because of the light... and because the organisms are loose about the tank, unless you can find a product to treat it in the tank... with the fish.
Maybe some snails would eat the algae?

Yes I would get me an algae eating sucker fish, a must for all tanks IMHO..... https://www.google.com/search?q=pictures+of+algae+eater+fish&client=opera&hs=zmw&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjAy4Xlg7fXAhUH42MKHX7ZBBcQsAQIJw&biw=1366&bih=629
If my client's tank gets a bit of algae, I just take a wet paper towel and wipe it off, you can take the plastic plants out and wash them, rinse very well several times. Then I usually put a new bio bag in the filter.
Thank you all
