Stitch three sides, fill with rice and stitch opening and use for heat pads. These can be heated in the microwave and used on hands, sore muscles, etc. Stitch on the sewing machine to make average size blanket and take to the animal shelter for pet blankets.
I love to use those for quilt tops, as I am a quilter. I am use to making old fashioned quilts like my grandmother did before ch/a. A lot of people still have to live this way, and really could use lots of heavy warm quilts or blankets. I love making quilts to donate to Appalachian families. This is a great time of year to do that. If you are not too far away from me, and would like to donate your scrap pieces for this purpose, I would really appreciate it. I could make about 3-4 good quilts for some families for Christmas gifts. Someone is always in need. I love giving and helping others. If you need to reach me, just send hometalk.com an email or contact them, and ask them to forward your email. But I really don't mind if you contact me directly. My email address is: grj797@gmail.com. Thanks
if you can't figure out what to do with them you can donate them to a church that does a quilt program. I used to be the administrative assistant for a church that made quilts for new babies and babies that were baptized, as well as to donate to fund raisers.

Perfect size and fabric to make cute sachets! with lavender: pull the 4 edges together and tie with a ribbon or raffia. Trim and cut loose threads. Pop them in closets, trunks, storage bins, dresser drawers and suitcases. The lavender makes things smell nice and the scent repels moths (plus fleas and mosquitos). If the edges are clean, the packets can be tied with a pretty ribbon as gifts or the sachet can be sewn into a small bag or pillow to hold the lavender.
