Hello. In my opinion the two tones wood is still in.
Hi there, I've seen several dressers now that are painted with the drawers stained and I think it still looks just gorgeous, especially with dark stain! To stain those I would sand them down thoroughly before applying the stain you want.
It doesn't make any difference if it is in or not, if it is what YOU will be the happiest with doing to your vanities. Just because something is now the thing to do or is outdated, it doesn't mean you can't do it. My house has dark wood around all the doors and windows and light walls, but I am not going to change it just because most like the light woodwork or paint. It goes with the house and I don't think I would like the look in this 1954 house. It may not match the wood floors, but it adds character that the house needs. I guess I am just old school and like to see the wood.
Yes they are still a trend. Just don't go too extreme in your two color palates
I see that done all over the place~that would look great! I'd love to see what you do!
If you going to paint the drawers a lighter color, I would also paint the recessed panels too for balance.
Since you are talking about selling, I would do them in one color only. I am a former realtor and have renovated and sold many homes. I would suggest using a high quality primer and semigloss paint in a dark gray, charcoal or rich coffee brown--depending on what would work with your color scheme. If the inside of your drawers and cabinets need to be painted, paint them the same color as your cabinetry. It is easier and looks good. Dark cabinetry hides imperfections. Also, the dark color will contrast nicely with your light counters.
if you are planning on staying I say do what you think looks cool! I like to draw things out and color them to get a better visual before I decide how to proceed!
How do you update sliding doors? They are hidden in the walls. They seperate the kitchr2from the livingroom.
