Plaster it but expensive! Or using a steamer and once taken off never need to do it again.
I did a shiplap ceiling in my room I use for meditation..and its great. I love it. I got 3/8 pine sheathing..Lowes cut it into the strips I wanted for free. Then it was a matter of sanding and painting. Using a nail gun to put them up.
Or you can have your ceilings mudded...which is a mess.
