Periodically pour some bleach down the drain. It helps prevent blockages from hair.
mix salt and baking soda together and pour it down the drain flow this with hot vinegar and then boiling water
I agree with Laurie, The baking soda and salt mixture will get into any forming clogs, the hot vinegar will cause it all to bubble, cleaning everything away and the hot water will wash it all through. Do this on a regular basis and you won't have clogs.
What is most likely plugging your drain is hair and a lot of it. You can get this nifty hair removal plastic strip from your local hardware store and you slide it down any drain, tub or sink, and it has somewhat sharp points going up and down it that grabs the hair when you pull it out. Push it down your drain then pull out, simple. All the hair comes with with it. It's pretty gross but does the trick.
The first thing to do is what Patricia suggested. Follow it with baking soda and about a cup of vinegar. Let that fizz in the drain for about ten minutes. Follow with about a gallon of boiling water to flush everything through. The baking soda and vinegar will dissolve the gunk that didn't come up with the hair and stuck to the pipes. The vinegar has antibacterial and antifungal properties that will clean the pipes and the hair will have less to grab. Pull the hair out as soon as the sink starts to slow down and it will not plug up as bad.
Try a solution of baking soda
Then pour vinegar on the soda. It will bubble and clear drains. Follow with letting hot water run. Cheap fix. About $2 at dollar tree.
By a drain cleaning plastic stick with little barbs on it from home Depot and just put it in the drain when you notice it slowing and it will pull all the hair out easy works in tub drain good also.
Vinegar and baking soda almost always works for us!
