It looks like a Tree Sorbaria
I know you're in a cold climate, but this almost looks like a white crepe myrtle tree. But I am not a botanist.

I suspect it's a Japanese Ivory Silk Tree Lilac (Syringa Reticulata), hardy to zone 3 and which grows 20 to 30 feet tall.

it could very well be the Japanese Lilac (beautiful, fragrant flowers) but it also looks like a Chestnut tree...there are many varieties though; Chinese, Japanese, European....and the extinct American Chestnut...
