I am working on decorating my porch for Christmas 🎄. I am finding it much harder than those BHG and Country Living pictures make it look. I bought some letters at Walmart that spell joy. I’m having trouble deciding on what color to paint them. I bought black chalkboard paint but now I am thinking 🤔 white or maybe gold? What do you think?

I found a white letter from another project. I like it.
I would go with black chalkboard paint to make them pop out against the background. Your display is so cute! Great job!
Red or green lettering

I think Michele is right, the black would be easier to see from the street.. Darling display!
The dark red to match the large ball.
Red or candy cane strips. plus if you can take a brush and go around the edges in gold
vBlack will show up the best and is always a classic and classy look. Red would show up “second best” and Gold the least .... assuming the letters are being placed on a white background. Just keep in mind the word “contrast” so if you change your mind and place them on a dark background, then the letters would need to be much lighter to stand out.

Yes, sometimes we take that route on our way to Hilton Head Island, S.C. I would have to dig out a map to give our exact route.
Regarding your photos, I think having all three letters in Black looks great.
When you have time, can you, perhaps, step back a few yards and take a photo that gives us readers a better OVERALL view? Your closeup photos are fine but it also would be helpful to see the front of the house and the position where you’ve placed your completed project. In other words, is this right beside your front door or on a porch, etc, etc?
