The only thing that will block is from the top of the railing to the floor. There is nothing you could use that would free-stand from the top of the railing to the roof even if you attach it to the entire railing from top to floor. Even thick tempered glass would need support at the roof line.
We bought clear tarps and put grommets around the edge to attach to the rails
Neighbors used sheets of a clear poly item. They screwed it to the hand rails and both top and bottom too. They can still see out of it but cuts down on the wind. It is the corragated sheets they sell at Lowes.
You could put up a plastic lattice on a frame and fasten it to the railing and to the walls.
Hello. I would use clear vinyl plastic sheeting. They carry it at home improvement stores.
