One cannot edit a comment from the discussion feed. However on the actual discussion page (accessed by clicking the title) you should be able to edit a comment. This can be done by clicking on the drop-down and selecting the Edit Comment option.

Thanks for the encouragement, I believe I know what to do now. FYI I'll remove 2 legs of the soffit and then bring in a local carpenter to finish off the ceiling, lights, and update one part of the soffit that will be a headache.
