What are his favorite colors, sports teams for hobbies —-that my give better direction for us to submit ideas for your consideration
Since it's HIS bedroom - ask him! You may have to modify his ideas and color choice some, but he needs to have input. He'll tell you his likes and dislikes and what he'd like - if it's sports or starwars or something else.
He needs a bookcase; a chair and desk to do whatever his mind can create (and maybe homework). If the room is small, use a chest of drawers rather than a bureau. A night stand and reading lamp. A clock so he can learn to be on time. The basics need to be things that he can grow with, maybe just a paint color and picture change - don't forget the sheets and bedspread!
Incorporate his personality into the room. Hang his artwork. There are many many ideas, everything depends on how much work you want to put in and also your budget.
Paint, bedspread, pillows, posters/artwork - all in colors or a theme that he likes.
Let him tell you what he likes and let him help
Find out what he likes and use that as a scheme. Example, if he likes baseball paint his room white and stencil blue and red bats and balls on the wall. Stay with that theme and put a similar colored bedspread on. Also consider painting the furniture in his room to match too.
