. i have a feral that i feel so badly about. I bought a heated cat house (chewy.com) but it doesn't go in it. I have a plastic garbage on it's side with straw in it and my furry couch throw and two light throws. I think it sleeps in there. Plus i feed this cat twice a day and now i am cooking whole chicken every week to add to the moist cat Food. My sister has a feral with young ones so she bought the heated multiple cat house. Good luck. If you capture and bring to a shelter they wil be killed So don't do that.

i have an old coffee table that's enclosed. i removed the doors and a 30 pd bag fits in there well i just cut it open and they eat when they want to. i have them eating all day as my work schedule changes. i have a metal tray on top to protect from weather but planning to build a new more permanent feed station in the spring. i have committed to helping these cats now. the rescues around here are overloaded with kitties so they wouldn't take the little ones, one did help and TNR for me so i get no more...

Put a cat door in a shed and put their food and water in there for them

i would absolutely do this if i had one but they stay in our front yard as our dogs get the run of the back so that won't work. i think my husband will build something like a chicken coop for next spring. town not to fond of feeding strays so been doing it on my front deck .

I have been feeling farels for several years but never had a family. It has been fun to watch them.

From what I was told, they just need some place out of the wind, with some sort of bedding that won't mold. I've seen project with people using those 35 gallon totes, cutting a door in it and putting in bedding

I understand. How about seeing if anyone has a dog house you can pretty up? If you look on local Facebook groups or Craigslist, sometimes people are giving them away, or sell them pretty cheap.

Cats seek shelter from wind & wet... (snow or rain).

A simple shelter is Very adequate... A wooden box waterproofed on top and elevated above ground. Thinnk milk crate with a partially covered top, turned on its side. Done. And Simple.

Our cat likes to roam about and finds shelter in a window well, under a bush on crushed leaves, under a wooden step... under a neighbor's shed... They'll make do with whatever they find... or they'll move on until...
