only if you get burned by them. if you have allergies to certain scents like mint, orange, vanilla..that might be a problem.
A candle puts of a soot, the black smoke you sometimes see when blowing them out, that is going into the air you breath the whole time your candle is burning. I use the wax melts in a warmer, specifically the Scentsy brand, the wax never goes away just the scent, anytime the wax etc disappears that means it’s going into the air you breath. Possibly causing health issues. I used to b a rep for this company but not now, although I still use this product because of this reason. There may be other brands that work the same way, I’m not sure. Also, it’s so much safer than burning candles. But this is why people can use the wax melts and not have issues, allergies. Because only the scent disapears, not the wax, meaning nothing is entering the air you breath, chemicals, rather than using candles.
It may if you are Asthmatic, check with your MD.
Possibly if you have problems with breathing - Fumes........
Anything that causes fire or has scent can cause breathing issues or allergy issues.
the soot also gets into your air ducts and cold air returns which can cost you down the road.
i was horrified when I changed the air filter nearest where I was burning a lot of candles. No more! The grey one is from the candle burning area.
Be aware what kind of wax your candle is, even melts can be a health hazard. I make Soy Candles and Soy melts - I have COPD and the only thing I need to watch out for is the scent. Just make sure your Candles/Melts are 100% Soy. I still would say talk to your Doctor - he knows better what could be hazard to your Health
They are Made with oils and food grade paraffin wax.
Might depend on the brand. My neighbor can't use the ScentSational melts from Walmart because they give her really bad headaches and she found out why...they contain formaldehyde
If you have any chronic obstructive pulminary disease (COPD, which is emphysema or bronchitis) you will not be able to tolerate any scent whatsoever in the air or on the body. Smelling smoke, fumes from a car, perfume or cologne, air freshener of any type, potpourri, scented melted wax, all of the scented cleaners, whether it be pine oil, eucalyptus oil, any essential oil smells, no matter how natural the source, it's all toxic to diseased lungs! Exactly what causes these lung diseases is partially unknown. Of course smoking cigarettes or any other drug you may have smoked is an obvious cause of COPD. But there are other causes too, such as occupational (ie daily or long-term) exposure to strong fumes that may be toxic or chemical in nature. And many people OVER scent their homes to a ridiculous degree, what with scented soaps and cleaners and sprays and potpourri and such, that when you walk into their homes you have to wonder what in the heck kind of stink are they trying to mask or disguise? It gets ridiculous very quickly when it comes to scents in a home or on a body. It may be much healthier for the lungs to just breathe in plain, unscented clean air in a house. In much the same way it's refreshing to the body when you drink plain clean water instead of soda or juice. And have you ever been complimented on how good you smell after you've showered with nothing more than a bar good old Ivory soap? No perfume necessary to smell really good! I'm jus sayin...
Hello Lucille
Only from the Carbon Smoke, if you have something like COPD, otherwise, I don't think so.
