have you tried the aluminum inserts arround the burners? That help a lot. You can also foil your oven or use an oven liner...I refer to them as splat mats. The mats can be had from the worlds largest on line retailer.
My oven manufacturer states not to line the oven with foil. I have seen silicon mats for this purpose but have not tried them. It is a terrible problem and I hate to use the cleaning cycle because the house stinks when it is on.
Once you've cleaned off, I used oven cleaner and let it sit, use automobile car wax. Make sure you don't get it on the burners. You'll need to redo periodically. Good luck.
I clean mine with a vinegar solution after every use. Easier to do a light cleaning everyday instead of a deep cleaning a few times a month.
I agree with Mogie5757 that you just need to clean after every use as soon as it cools off. I use that advice for every chore in my home (refrigerator, dressers, closet, cabinets, etc) so nothing ever gets out of hand except mail/paper pile-ups!
Well I do the same as Mogie5757 and Ficher- as a matter of fact, I have been cooking on and off all day today and already cleaned the stove top at least 3 times. Still need to prepare the pets vegetables, then I am done!
I too clean as I go, and use the burner foil inserts, and a piece of foil on the bottom applied after cleaning oven while bottom is still wet and smoothed on with hand.
