Freeze it, then pick off the frozen gum. It should come right off.

If there are actual pieces stuck, put it in the freeszer for 15 minutes or so, the gum will harden and you can pop it off with your fingernail. If there is residue, use an appropriate colored shoe polish (the actual cake type, not the quick stuff in a bottle), the oils in the polish will move the gum. Wipe thoroughly with a clean cloth or paper towel to remove excess polish.
Ice
Try a piece of ice and see if you can freeze it off. The leather will be probably be stained underneath though - so get some leather conditioner.
Hold ice cube against gum & when froze pull gum off.
Coconut oil is great for leather. I have saved several old antique wallets and coin purses.
Place your wallet in the freezer compartment of your refrigerator until the gum freezes. Use a rubber or plastic spatula to remove the gum (usually in one rock hard piece). If any residue is left, a gentle vegetable oil applied with a cotton ball will release any stickiness and treat the leather.
