Turn the electric off. Get a large cork, place the cork where the broken light bulb was, push the cork in the socket and turn to remove the top of the bulb.
Turn off the power to the fixture.
Using a needle nose pliers grip the edge of the remainder of the bulb/socket, and unscrew until it comes out.
Hi, The light bulb base can be removed by pushing a bar of soap down onto the broken light bulb base. When you imbed the glass shards of the bulb into the soap bar you can then twist it to remove the bulb from the socket. This has worked for me, hope it helps you too.
TAKE A POTATO AND PUSH UP INTO THE BULB. THIS WILL PROTECT YOUR HAND FROM GLASS SHARDS. THEN JUST TWIST THE THE REMAINS OF BULB OUT AND REPLACE WITH NEW LED BULB
This has happened to me several times. I went to the beaker box & turn off the main breaker switch to cut off all power/electricity to be as safes as possible. I used needle nose plyers or tweezers to grab hold of the base (from the edge) that's stuck inside & unscrewed it. Turn it to the left to unscrew. Remember this - rightsy tightsy, lefty Lucy. Replace bulb & turn breaker back on. Hope it works for u.
Push a potato against the base and unscrew it
Make sure the power is off before trying anything. With the power off, sometimes a peeled potato pushed down firmly onto the metal part may be the way to unscrew or at least loosen it. Then, finish removing it with a pair of pliers.
This is when the fan will use only appliance bulbs. Make sure you keep these on hand., in case this happens again, you will be prepared for it. J.
Sylvia, before you go to the store, take one bulb with you, so you can match it properly, vs getting lots of diff sized bulbs. As I said, most use the Appliance Bulb. J.
