See the frame it is most likely providing support as well as covering up the plastic holders that they sell for this purpose you screw them into the studs then mirror is placed on them.
See that little diamond in the corners where the squares meet? Those are the brackets and the frame is holding it together or is hiding other brackets.
I remember using these that were self adhesive on the back.
