What is the best way to remove wallpaper?
I don’t want to leave tracks in the drywall as I did previously in a different room.
a steamer your best bet. Otherwise you can use a wet sponge and soak the wallpaper till it starts coming lose! It will need to get pretty wet before it comes off with a sponge
Sometimes it comes off easy, most of the time - not. Warm water in a spray bottle, and scraping it off. Test a corner and see if it gives any - you might be one of the lucky ones!
Score it and steam it! Check this out . . .

There more you score, the more steam gets in, the easier it is to remove. Rent the steamer from any tool rental facility.
I have heard of spraying on a mixture of water and fabric softener as well, but you do have to really make sure it soaks in and gets the wallpaper wet so it comes off. I used vinegar mixed with water on mine, made sure it was saturated and soaked in and then peeled.

Best Way to Remove Wallpaper
How about good old viniger & water and spray bottle
we successfully removed vinyl paper using a heave spray concentration of water & fabric softener. It was two huge walls & the paper peeled off along with "sheets" of backing/adhesive that looked & smelled like giant dryer (fabric softener) sheets! It was amazing ' amusing but easier than we expected!
Warm water with dish was soap, wallpaper will be easy to remove after it is wet
I use a steamer and also spray with vinegar and water.
Yes, I forgot about fabric conditioner - it works really well!
