Hosta , can’t kill them, I have solid green & variegated.
check with your local extension office . Most counties have them. Also a state university usually has extension offices. For Indiana it is Purdue University.

Better Homes and Gardens published a book called Step by Step Shade Garden that has 31 pages of pictures of plants with their flowers just for shade. It also tells what growing zone is best for each plant and has diagrams for ideas of gardens. See if you can get it at the library. You don't have to settle for the old tried and true Hosta.
