Oh dear! I would never change this floor. What a treasure you have here.
Change it up a bit with a rug under the table. That would add warmth to the room, define the space and cut down on the activity in the floor.
Wayfair has great prices on rugs.
Chalk paint isn't durable enough to use on a floor.
That type of flooring is called terrazzo and it's beginning to become very popular. A lot of experts say it adds value to your home.
Like you, I'm not a huge fan of it, but I'd consider keeping it and covering it with rugs as Jeanette said.
You can paint it with Enamel paint. It will wear off, eventually, in heavy traffic area so save some extra paint to repaint that area. Save original paint as you will never be able to match the color.
I agree with the no paint point of view. Esp as you have so much of it. If you did paint it it would wear off as Wanda says, but not around the edges and corners. I think you would end up with a terrible mess. You can emphasize it which actually would make it all look better. You can do this with rugs as has been suggested but also curtains and furniture. Good luck!
Thank you for your advices!!
