Do call a Plumber to fix it for you........
The seals and/or the cartridge are probably worn out so maybe it is time to invest in a new faucet.
There is a water pressure valve in every house that regulates the pressure coming from the city. It does get old and worn out and needs to be replaced by a plumber. If not replaced can cause damage. When it is worn out it causes the water pressure to be very high. I would talk to a plumber. This could be the reason for the banging when you turn the tap on. It is better to pay for maintenance than to pay for major damages; which would be a lot more.
This article has some good tips on how to check on and fix leaking sinks-https://www.thespruce.com/checking-for-faucet-leaks-2718844
Joychevi has a good solution. Leaking from around the base usually means the cartridge is not sealing properly. The banging is another sign something is loose in the tap and the force of the water is shifting it.
Clockwise (right) to turn off. Counterclockwise ( left to open). A pair of pliers on the handle and very gently turn to loosen the shut off valve. No tools then see if you can hire a handyman that knows plumbing. Cheaper than a plumber.
