There should be no build up if youfollow directions. I haveCopper Chef, and it says no olive oil because it will build up. Wehave used ours since it came out, and have no build up.
Assuming that you mean the outside copper jacket ... of all the home remedies I have tried, CATSUP works best. Let it stand a few minutes, wipe off with rough cloth.
