WE had that problem with our dishwasher and started using Lemishine, it is in the dish washer detergent area. Follow the directions. I have not had a single problem now for over a year!
Put them in a dish pan and throw a couple denture cleaning tabs in the water with them, and let sit for awhile.
In our case, there were 2 different issues. The first one was the dishwasher detergent itself. For some reason it left a film on the inside of the glasses. We had to wash them by hand with a non-scratching scrubbing pad to get them clean. The second issue was with some old glass bowls that we use with our grandkids as "ice cream bowls". They were actually from my childhood and my family did have a dishwasher so I never thought there would be a problem. Unfortunately, they started looking cloudy on the inside too. I tried vinegar and hand washing but it didn't work. It turns out that they were probably etched by the other debris that is in the dishwasher when it is working. I was going to stop using them because they were so old, but I got lucky and found some more at a garage sale. Now we wash those by hand. Etching can be a problem in a dishwasher unless you wash your dishes before putting them into the dishwasher & that would defeat the purpose of the dishwasher. If the glasses are crystal or are old, it's best to wash them by hand. Wishing you the best.
Blue dawn dish soap and about 1/2 cup bleach mixed in warm water, Soak about 15 minutes, wash by hand and rinse well.
I squirt a little lemon juice into the dishwasher when I start it. No spots or etching
Thanks everyone for your help but nothing worked. I even soaked them overnight. This just goes to remind me not to get attached to anything...it's only material stuff.
i was left a number of glasses when we moved in and they were all cloudy ...from the hard water we had...i sprayed a little CLR inside the glass and let it sit about 15 minutes...don't throw them away..try this
