How do I get rid of very, very stubborn stains in an old cast iron tub
This tub is very old, but want to keep. has really bad water stains. This is a cast iron tub, with a porcelain finish.
Glue? Normally all that is around the tub is silicone. A safety razor blade is all you should need to scrape it off the tub and surround tiles or whatever. If is is a new one, or not rusty or pitted, it shouldn't scratch the ceramic.
Glue or caulk? If its silicon caulk you can buy a remover for this at the hardware store, using a metal scraper. Then they usually have a couple brackets that are screwed onto 2x4s along the edge of the tub and wall.

try some Goo Gone. Make sure it's not Goof Off that can damage things
