We have a beautiful solid teak dining room table and hutch/buffet. It is roughly 40 years old and is In excellent condition. We have used teak oil regularly over the years but for the last 3 years it has lived in an offsite storage unit. I would ove to be able to bring it home but the natural teak colour will not fit with our new decor. Any help would be most appreciated.

If you just want a darker color you could use a dark wax. Or if you want like shabby chic you could use chalk paint

You could stain it darker, or Bleach it lighter, or paint using Chalk PAINT AND THEN wAX or you could sand and strip the polish off and Prime, undercoat and use topcoat. Or use ESP (Easy Surface Primer) then undercoat and top coat

Ditto what Bonnie said. Teak may be extinct in its natural habitat

Teak is highly resinous and has an abundance of natural oils. The oils prevent rot and give the wood a shiny patina, but they also inhibit paint adhesion and can bleed through finishes, so painting teak isn't the best idea in the world. That's why teak is especially used for outdoor furniture.
