Good luck!
Assuming it’s a normal faucet and just won’t shut off completely where it drips? Turn off the water supply to your outside faucet. Remove your Handle and then the nut the stem goes thru and pull the stem out. You may need to unscrew the stem to remove it. You can slip the handle back on or use a pair of vice grips to remove the stem if necessary. But should come out pretty easily. Once you got the stem out you should see where the washers are that need to be replaced. Go to your Home improvement center like Home Depot or a hardware store and take the stem with you and they should be able to help you with getting the right washers for your stem. There should be 2 washers. I for the bottom of the stem to keep the water from dripping and another washer up higher on the stem to keep water from leaking up around your stem by the handle. Then just reinstall the stem by screwing it in till snug by hand or just lightly tighten with the handle or vice grips. Not too tight now! Put your nut back on the stem and snug it down, again not too tight! You can always tighten more if you have any leaks? Just don’t want to strip or break your nut. Be careful of cross threading your nut too, it should turn by hand several turns before needing a wrench or vice grips! Hopefully when it’s reinstalled your leak will be fixed. Best of luck
