How to clean the glass smudges

I purchased a beautiful pendant light on-line which has 3 glass sides. I have tried windex, the dawn "special", vinegar and water....it's still got that greasy film that shines through when it's lit. HELP! I love the pendant, but not when it's lit. Oh dear.....there's got to be a "better way".....

I looked at an older posting where the same question had been asked. This is what I gained from that: Use an oil based solvent like WD-40 or mineral spirits to dissolve all of the grease. THEN use your regular window cleaning water based solution. Should be no more problems.

2 micro fiber cloths.....pan of warm water.....wet one cloth and wring out most of water, wipe the glass then dry and polish with dry cloth....cheap and works......great for car windows too......when doing windows use a glass scraper to take off anything that is stuck then wipe and polish...

Thanx!....will give it a try today and keeping my fingers crossed. Would I have to rinse after? Just wondering if the metal surround could be damaged you think?

Hot water that has laundry powder in it, will remove grease from exhaust fan filters, so try it with your glass pendant, dip it into your laundry tub that is full of soapy water, rinse and polish
