Sounds like you need to put in a french drain.
Standing water is always a drainage situation of one kind or another. At our previous house, we called the driveway “Lake Martin” after it rained. After trying several unsuccessful ideas, we dug narrow 6” trenches on each side of the driveway. Problem solved. The city street drains took away the extra water. ☺️
Dig a ditch that that slopes away from your home (sort of like how you gutters slope so water will run to the downspout), fill with large gravel and fill in. That is the simple answer.
There are several versions... you dig a trench, fill it with crushed stone; cover it with fabric and cover with dirt. This explains it quite nicely... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RQYN9fRcc8
