Good morning,
I have worked with iron on the hair in my hair salon for years. I love Lemon juice for this job. Purchase a good quality lemon juice. (off brand is not good for this job) saturate your dry hair with lemon juice. I lean head over the sink or tub with the drain plugged to catch excess. when hair is saturated ,twist it up in a towel for 10 to 20 minutes. Jump in the shower and shampoo as usual. ( or wash in sink) If you have hard water I recommend after each shampoo and full rinse to pour about 12 oz of filtered store bought water on your hair to rinse of the rusty/irony water. Hope that helps and makes sense.
Hi, you didn't state whether it was caused by hard/well water.
I am a blonde with well water and have suffered with iron and mineral discolouration for years.
I've been using a product (s) from Sallybeauty.com.
Ion Hard water shampoo and their Clarifying Shampoo. It does help eliminate the discolouration. Use a good condition as your hair will dry out some.
