tarnex , i never tried it. but that's what it's for also wrap cleaned ware w/black tisue paper if you are going to store them. good luck let me know how it works!!
plain white toothpaste
I used toothpaste. You don't have to get the expensive kind. Just the kind that is not gel. Takes it off with a little elbow grease and water.
Most antique collectors use WRIGHTS silver polish. I get it at my local grocery store and I believe Target sells it also.
I tried all of those other remedies -- toothpaste, soaking with aluminum foil and the "magic potion," etc. The only thing that really works is Wrights silver polish. Took a little elbow grease, but worked a lot better than the other solutions.
I use Wrights or Goddards. Have a huge collection of silver flatware also hollow ware.
