You should replace all the wiring. There may be short circuits within.

First off - buy new lamp rewiring kit. It includes all the wiring and plug and steps for the rewire can be found online. Better to be safe than sorry. NO one wants a fire ....
Buy new. Never know what got shorted.

Take it apart, replace burnt cords and such, reassemble. It was probably an errant wire touching an opposite charge.
