I have a very nice snow globe that I would like to either repair or replace the water in because it has become a disgusting yellow color.
Could you build some type of scraper on a pulley system that could be operated by hand. Pulling on wire or rope would allow it to pull the snow to edge or off roof.
The snow will not hurt your roof unless it is very deep (like 3 feet or more or 2 feet of very wet heavy snow). Unless you live in a very high snow area, I would not worry about it. You can get extensions for rakes to reach much farther or use a folding step ladder to get a little more height. Be safe and hope this helps!
