So is it moss/mildew on them? I would get some Lily Miller Moss Out in the liquid with the hose attachment, and spray it on, and use a stiff brush to work it in and leave for awhile until clean, rinse.

No idea what Castle Graystone is. What are the stairs made of - wood? Stone? Composite decking? Covered in saltillo tile?
I just picked up Wet and Forget moss killer for my roof. I read the reviews and it does work, but it takes time. It is a once and done type of product, which makes me very happy. You can give it a try or wait a few weeks for me to get back to you. ;)
I'm interested in trying this treatment, but we still have 4" of snow on the roof and won't get after it until April.
