Slate is absolutely beautiful! Are you sure you want to paint them? Maybe I am old fashioned, but I wouldn't paint them. I would be thrilled to bits to have slate floors. . . .
Slate is just gorgeous, we have a slate kitchen floor that is very old and our contractor is encouraging us to have taken up. I can see major effort to do this. Personally, I love the high durability and character this floor offers, I would not paint it. The grouting between the tiles may need some refreshing, but at the end of the day, it is a keeper.
