How to put up a back splash
Not knowing what you are going for - tile, wood, etc, here are some ideas:

You can purchase back splash in 12 X 12 at your hardware store and your hardware store should be able to give you info on installation.
Depends what you have chosen to use as a back splash, and what do you have there-- now-that would make a difference with the correct preparation.
