Black or a complete contrast colour Red/ etc...............Or do it White with Black to inside line of Trim.
I agree with johnavvallance82. Go dark or use an accent color.
Gray complementary to your stainless fridge.
White, to keep the kitchen bright.
White
Grey
Paint it white to brighten the Kitchen and tie into the top cabinets. will make the cabinet area look larger.
White! Keep the kitchen bright and airy!
I would keep the base white and paint just the doors the dark grey.
If you like the gray, paint them just like the lower cabinets or a few shades lighter. The stark opposites reminds me of snatching up garage sale bargains and trying to make them work.
White to keep the kitchen bright.
I would go with the grey or a bright yellow.
White.
Gray will look like you couldn't figure out what to do so you played it safe, or ran low on paint and just mixed them. It will end up looking "good enough". Black and white together - back to the can't decide dilemma. The contrasting color is the way to go. If you can't blend it, celebrate it. It will look more like it was a part of the plan from the beginning and not an afterthought.
I say go with the gray paint on lower cabinets... if you paint that big cabinet in a light color - IT WILL LOOK HUGE!
I would have done the tall cabinet dark and leave the small cabinets upper and lower white
Depends on the lighting in your kitchen, If you have lots of light, it really doesn't matter. If your kitchen is already dark (like mine!), you really don't want more dark cabinetry to suck out all the light. Otherwise, I'd go with a favorite color. After all, grey does go with anything!
I would go with one of the lighter colors that are in your back splash.
Grey
Gray with white trim or white with gray trim
Maybe a lighter shade of gray. It would keep things cohesive with fridge and not too dark.
grey like the fridge. That light blueish grey doesn't look good with the floor.
Definitely the darker, it will frame the white cupboards
Paint it the same color as the base cabinets. The darker color at the top of the pantry will give weight to the top cabinets and ground the base.
Neither. I would clean the pantry door and place floral decals. The greenery on top of your cabinets gave me that idea. Maybe a grapevine effect or use only red (flowers) or black (3-D's, etc.). Check out the decals because if you like them, you won't have the expense and hassle of painting. I have old French door white cabinets in my kitchen and placed decals of leaves with stems here an there. I like it. Look into the decals and then you can decide.
White base with gray doors (same paint as your other cabinets) or gray base with white doors.
I would do a pale yellow, I love a yellow kitchen reminds me of sunshine lol
Paint it white to brighten up the kitchen
I actually think a blue similar to what Baxter shows in the picture above would be stunning!
Wow! So many opinions.....have you decided yet? I'd either go with the gray on the entire pantry (no painting the doors different than the frame...to choppy) or as someone else suggested, go with a totally DIFFERENT color option such as red, teal or whatever colors you love in your home. Most of all realize that if you don't like the outcome.....it is only paint and you can change it if you want. That's the fun of having your own place.....you can make it yours.
WHITE!!!!!
I would try keeping base white and just paint the inside panels of pantry black to match base cabinets. If no like, I would then paint whole thing black.
Thanks everyone! I think I’m leaning towards the grey. The picture Baxter posted looks great. The kitchen is good size with good lighting.
Too many different colors would make it look like a circus invaded your kitchen!!! Stick with simplicity; less is always more as "they" say! Good luck!
I would pick one of the complimentary colors from your wall tiles to tie everything in together. The lighter Taupe-Grey tiles in the tile kitchen tiles on the wall would pull it all together nicely .
I would go multi-tone, use your dark gray on the left side of the cabinet (inside area of the coffee area) the dark gray, and the two lower doors, then paint upper door in your white tone. Then inside framing on the cabinet face between the 3 doors, and the right side of the cabinet probably a medium tone gray maybe matching the gray above your coffee tiled backplash.
I would paint it the color of the bottom cabinets. The side of the refrigerator is dark.
I am not surprised with all the different answers. Do know that all rules have gone out the window and people can do what they like. There is no right or wrong. I usually like to consider how the lightening is affected since I love natural light and functional light under the cabinets. I am leaning toward painting the storage cabinet on the right side the darker color so as to balance the darker color opposite of the refrigerator. I think the dark gray looks great with the floor. Looks good!
There's no wrong answer, either works. I think I would prefer the darker color.
