What vinegar and waterer dab of blue dawn dish soap and a dab of jet dry
I use ammonia water, it seems to work as well as soap and really cuts the grime. I rinse with vinegar water to get any dirty residue off and leave them more sparkling. I use a gallon ice cream pail about 2/3rds to 3/4 full of water and a decent glug of ammonia and perhaps a couple of glugs of vinegar. I don't measure, just pour, it isn't an exact science, you will know if it cleans.
Best dish soap is blue Dawn. It cuts grease like no other dish soap. All you need is a few drops in your bucket or container of warm water! Scrub your window with this mixture and squeegie off starting at the top, wiping the squeegee off with a cloth each time. Good luck!
Cleaning the inside or the outside windows?
If you use a bit of Dawn, either one half cup of vinegar or household ammonia to a pail of warm water you should have good results.
a window cleaner told me Dawn as Janet says. Myself I use windex inside for windows and mirrors. Outside the windex attachment for the hose. If upstairs windows are really soiled on the outside, my husband removes, (by removing window stays and securing weights (ours is an old house) this is much more labor intensive but they get nice and clean.
It is actual better to use vinegar and water. If you still want to use dish soap Dawn is very good. I would use about 1 tsp to a Qt. of water. Vinegar is 50-50 mix.
