Vinegar will get rid of the mold and mold spores. When bone dry, you can prime and paint.
Use wet and Forget safe for all surfaces....Do not paint over mold
Paint will just cover it up, it will not be gone, this is a temporary control to just not see it, but it will go through the paint. I found this site you can take a look and hopefully this will help: http://www.a1-fence.com/how-to-remove-mold-on-a-fence/
Hi Susan. You can mix 50/50 water and bleach and spray it. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then rinse. Make sure the wood is completely dry before painting it. You will also want to prime it before you paint it. Good Luck!
If it's that spotty black mold I've used a solution of bleach and water to wash it off. You should really wash anything before painting it. And regarding acrylic paint, the type of paint you can use depends upon the type of paint that's already there. If it has oil base paint on it you should stick to oil base paints. That's what my crazy exhusband always did. Or go to a hardware store and take pictures with you....
Power wash it.
Paint will NOT stick to mildew/ mold. Mold and mildew are living organisms - you have to kill them or force them off the surface.
Thank you !
Wood or vinyl fence post? Never paint over mold or mildew.
Kill it with Clorox water then sand off the dead mold it will turn black, give it a clear enamel spray.
Thank you
