The only way I have found is to use the tools that come with the vacuum cleaner. I have one that has a slanted end and that one works best for me. It usually takes a few passes but it finally gets those annoying nooks and crannies.
I use a Roomba, love her, nickname Rosie (From the Jetsons). She has these plastic things on the bottom that rotate to bring in the dirt from the moldings and she gets right up to the baseboards. Other than that I do not know a way except to use the tools. FYI-I will run my regular full size vacuum once a month, but I hardly get anything up. I don't run Rosie that day so it might just be what Rosie would have picked up anyway...why do I do this? I guess old habits die hard. They are fairly cheap anymore.
I use one of those crevice tools on the vacuum to do this at clients, https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=crevice+tool+for+vacuum&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 and every once in awhile I lift the furniture corner up and vacuum underneath.
Use crevice tool around the molding and furniture. Take a spray bottle fill it with 1/3 floor cleaner and the rest warm water. Carefully pre-spray around the molding and edges of furniture. Let it stand about 15-20 minutes then use the hand held attachment of your carpet cleaner.
If you don't have the attachment take a scrub brush with soft bristles and scrub the areas.
Do you mean ‘can’t be moved about’? Meanwhile, how are your knees? Liquid laundry soap mixed with water in a spray bottle works great. The ultimate trick is a good tooth/scrub brush.
I use my wand attachment on two straight attachments, so I do not have to bend over. If you do not have extra straight attachments.Tape together paper towel cardboard centers.
