Ideas for an old cast iron bath tub makeover?

I have an old cast iron footed tub in my garden and I would like to know the best way to make it look nice without it sticking out so much. It is painted a copper color, but that can be changed. I have tried different flower combinations and even incorporated a fairy garden in it at one time. We have also moved it around the yard in different locations, but it is now in a permanent spot. On one side is a hydrangea bush and the other side a fig tree. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Can you paint it to blend in with the plants and then make it into a fish pond? In our area we'd have to cover the top with something to keep raccoons out of it, though.

Thank you for your response and your suggestion. I will pass this idea by my husband to see if it is possible, but I think it’s great and would add a focal point in that garden. Thank you again!

Hey, Nicki, I really like the idea of a fish pond. I guess the raccoons eat the fisch if not covered, so how about just a water garden with water plants? That is if you live where you don't have to drain it in the winter.

Hello Pat...thank you for your response and great idea. I believe some sort of water feature will be the way to go with the tub. Now that the idea has been given to me, I’m thinking I’ll have some fun with it and possibly incorporate a shower head into the plan. Unfortunatel, I live in the northeast and it will have to be drained for the winter.

Have fun with it and if the drain hole is there, could you hook a hose to it for easy draining?
