Great opportunity to sand and stain it a different color OR paint it. I'd suggest using wipe on polyurethane for an easy application of a sealer in the finish of your choice. Best of luck.

As a small child I remember my mother repairing furniture discoloration, leather and wood, by rubbing the meat of a pecan or two on the offending mark.. It worked yet i don't remember damaging anything with ink from paper.. She used elbow grease and a paper towel
Surprisingly, rub it with cigarette ash and mineral oil and it'll come off.
