How can I start a succulent garden from seed?

I acquired a lot of succulent seeds. I want to start these seeds for transplant to a raised bed outdoors. They are mixed and most are tiny like pepper from a pepper shaker. I heard I should mix these seeds with fine sand and press them into the proper growing medium. I bought the special dirt and sand. Any further tips would be gratefully appreciated.
